Frequently Asked Questions

Why do you limit simultaneous onboardings?

Discipline over volume. We intentionally limit ourselves to 2-3 client onboardings at a time. This ensures every client receives the focused attention and thorough implementation they deserve. Proper foundation-setting is critical to long-term stability. This approach means we may not be available immediately, but it guarantees the infrastructure we build will operate reliably for years.

What happens after the 8 weeks?

The 8-week onboarding builds the foundation. After that, you're fully integrated into our operating model: continuous monitoring, regular maintenance, and ongoing optimization. Onboarding establishes the infrastructure; ongoing operations keep it running quietly.

Can the process be accelerated?

We can adjust priorities within the 8 weeks, but rushing the process creates gaps and instability. Each phase builds on the previous one, and this timeline creates the most durable foundation.

What if we need help during onboarding?

You have full support access from day one. The 8-week timeline is for the structured implementation work, but you can reach out anytime for urgent issues or questions.

How does onboarding work if we already have an IT person?

Backstop onboarding follows the same 8-week process with a few additional steps. Because we're layering in alongside your existing IT person rather than building from scratch, we invest significant time upfront getting alignment right. That means two to three dedicated one-hour meetings with your IT person - covering your current environment in detail, clarifying what they own versus what Athencia owns, and establishing how day-to-day escalation works between them and our team. We also train your IT person on everything we're bringing to the table: our RMM, ticketing system, the Athencia One portal, and the full security stack - EDR, DNS filtering, monitoring, and anything else we deploy into their environment. They need to be comfortable with how all of it works before we go live. It's an investment on both sides. But getting that foundation right at the start is what makes the ongoing relationship work. An IT person who knows exactly when and how to engage us is far more effective than one who's guessing.
