Athencia LLC (“Athencia,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates athencia.com and related forms and resources. This notice explains what information we collect through this website, how we use it, and the choices available to you.
Information you provide
When you contact Athencia through the website, we may collect your name, work email address, organization, approximate organization size, the topic you want to discuss, your message, and context carried from the page that led you to the inquiry.
If you subscribe to Athencia Insights, we collect the email address you provide and any other information you choose to provide through the subscription process.
If you use the IT Health Check, we collect the information you enter into the assessment, including contact information, organization and industry information, and answers concerning your technology, security, AI use, backup, resilience, and operating environment.
Information collected automatically
Our hosting, security, and analytics providers may process technical information such as IP address, browser and device information, requested pages, referral information, timestamps, and information needed to detect abuse or operate the website.
Athencia uses Simple Analytics for aggregate site measurement. Google Analytics may also be enabled. Cloudflare Turnstile may be used to protect forms from automated abuse.
How we use information
We use information collected through the site to:
- respond to inquiries
- deliver requested resources
- operate and secure the website
- provide the IT Health Check and related reports
- send Athencia Insights to subscribers
- understand how the site is used
- maintain records reasonably necessary for business, security, and legal purposes
We do not sell personal information.
IT Health Check and automated analysis
The IT Health Check calculates a score and generates a report based on the information you submit.
When automated narrative generation is enabled, limited assessment information may be sent through OpenRouter to an AI model to generate part of the report. That information may include the organization name, industry, organization size, assessment score, identified gaps, stated compliance needs, whether the organization has dedicated IT staff, and whether security incidents were reported. The AI narrative does not require your personal name or email address.
Health Check reports are stored using a unique report link and currently expire after approximately 35 days. Anyone who possesses the report link may be able to view the report, so you should treat the link as private.
Do not submit passwords, credentials, protected health information, highly sensitive client information, or other secrets through public website forms.
Service providers
Athencia uses service providers to operate portions of the website and related communications. Depending on the feature you use, these may include:
- Vercel for website hosting
- Resend for transactional email
- Beehiiv for Athencia Insights subscriptions
- Upstash for report storage and rate limiting
- Cloudflare Turnstile for form protection
- OpenRouter for optional Health Check narrative generation
- Simple Analytics
- Google Analytics when enabled
Those providers process information according to their own agreements and privacy practices.
Sharing
We may share information with service providers acting on our behalf, when necessary to respond to your request, when required by law, or when necessary to protect Athencia, our clients, or others.
We do not sell or rent mailing lists or personal information to advertisers.
Retention
We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected and for legitimate business, security, contractual, or legal requirements.
Health Check reports currently expire after approximately 35 days.
Newsletter subscription information is retained until you unsubscribe or the information is otherwise removed.
Correspondence and business inquiry records may be retained as part of Athencia’s ordinary business records.
Your choices
You may unsubscribe from Athencia Insights using the unsubscribe link included in each message.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information Athencia maintains about you, subject to applicable legal and business-record requirements, by contacting privacy@athencia.com.
