For private equity

Bring acquired systems together. Keep the business running.

An acquisition brings technology work with a deadline. Your internal team still has daily operations to manage.

Athencia helps portfolio-company technology leaders plan and deliver complex migrations, from deciding how environments should come together through cutover and stabilization.

Plan around the business.

We can help establish the target environment and integration plan, or execute an approach you have already defined.

We agree on scope and responsibilities with your team and existing providers, then sequence the work around business priorities and technical dependencies.

Bring the environments together.

Workplace, identity and endpoints

We plan and execute migrations across cloud and on-premises environments, including:

  • Microsoft 365 tenant-to-tenant migrations involving Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive.
  • Google Workspace to Microsoft 365 migrations.
  • On-premises Exchange Server to Exchange Online migrations.
  • Active Directory migrations and identity consolidation.
  • Endpoint migrations coordinated with changes to identity and user access.

The plan accounts for how people access systems and collaborate during the transition, including periods when environments need to coexist.

Infrastructure and consolidation

We help determine which infrastructure should remain, move or be retired, then carry out the agreed changes.

The work can include cloud and infrastructure migrations, reducing duplication, and addressing security or resilience requirements. Cost informs the decisions alongside the operational needs of the combined business.

Every relationship is Principal-led.

An Athencia Principal maintains business context and remains accountable for the relationship and its agreed outcomes as execution is delegated.

The Principal works with the client and delivery team to set technical direction and coordinate providers. On larger engagements, project managers manage delivery and dependencies, while migration specialists execute the technical work and recommend cutover readiness.

The Principal stays involved in important decisions and contributes directly where needed.

Carry the work into operation.

Delivery includes validation and issue resolution through stabilization, followed by an agreed handover.

Where continued oversight is needed, Athencia can operate selected technology capabilities and improve them over time.

Experience across complex transitions.

Athencia’s team brings combined experience from more than 100 migrations affecting hundreds of thousands of users.

For private-equity operating partners.

Introduce Athencia when a portfolio company has an integration deadline its internal team cannot absorb alongside daily operations, or a migration that requires specialist expertise.

We work with the company’s CIO, CTO or IT director to establish the need and agree where Athencia should take responsibility.

What needs to move, and by when?

Start with a conversation about the environments involved, the deadline, and what your team already has covered.

We’ll discuss the work ahead and where Athencia can help.
